No, I like it this way … if you look closely, you can see the shadow of the lighthouse falling across the grass … I was delighted that I had a good cloud shot in my archives that would give me that kind of delineation. I really like the feeling of the clouds moving across the sky … kind of different. But don’t worry, I have tons more clouds shots from that night, plenty fulll sky, and I’ll be sure to use them again. And again … and … lol!!!!

Hey Elisa … yepper … I could have wrapped a whopper of a story around this one if I’d wanted … it does look like a fire. Was one of the weirdest skies we’ve seen around here. The clouds were coming in from the EAST .. which is almost unheard of here … and the sun was setting (in the west of course) so everything was lit up so unusually!!!

Knew I had something else in here … but oh, how dull just the plain lighthouse tower looked against that weak white sky!!!! I just HAD to do SOMEthing!!! LOl!!!!

You use that old saying too?? Hey, notice our pals across the pond substitute shepherd for sailor!!! Isn’t that cool? So glad you enjoyed this shot … I had a bit of a struggle with it … the tower was dreadfully backlit in the original … but I think I got some definition out of it finally!!

Hiii Jesika … oh, this one was a breeze … in both the original background and in the cloudy sky shot, the light was coming from the same direction … so all the light reflection thingies on the light house could just stay in place. Plus, on the original the sky was that uggy white … SOOO easy to just make it go away!!!

Yes, I’ve heard the other version … seems our buddies on your side of the pond know it your way … most of us over here on the left bank seem to know the sailor version. Plus … my Dad was a Navy man … so that reinforces the way I learned it. Glad you didn’t see anything amiss with the compilation. I usually sweat bullets over these things, making sure every pixel is blended and buffed and polished. i didn’t do that on this one as both images had the light coming from the rear. Looking very close (which you can’t really see here) there is a bit of yellow along the outer edges of the catwalk and the rim of the tower … but as the “light” is supposed to be coming from back there I deliberately let it stay. These things are SUCH fun, lol!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!
