it’ll be all that much more wonderful when it does arrive!!! Believe it or not there’s about a 3 week difference in the quality of the seasons between our house, which is about an hour north of Wash DC and our cabin, which is about a 3 hour drive northwest, in PA. It’s like going from one season to another when we go back and forth!!!!! Hang in there … wear shorts and flip flops to encourage it!!!!

  • Lois Bryan replied

Jan … I’m going to ignore the part of your comment about the legs and the pedals. Instead, I’m going to focus on your lovely compliments about the composition … thank you VERY much … I actually nearly got back-spasms getting the composition just so on this baby. Thank you. No, I’m NOT going to ignore the legs and the pedals … laughing … you GOOF!!! I answered your pedal concerns yesterday … lordieyou’reobservant … and as to the legs … see the itty bitty chain holding the SWING up??? (rolling eyes at you) ... I painted that chain in BY HAND very nicely, thank you very much!!!! goodgrief!!!!! As always, darling, clever Jan, you bring a huge laugh … may I even say a guffaw … into my day!!!!!! Hugzzzz!!!!!

  • Clark Thompson

    Clark Thompson

Another winning image here, Lois. The treatment is well suited giving a classic antique feel to the photograph without washing out the eye popping color of the flowers. There are so many details with great clarity. Most of all, I love the depth of field. The porch swing really adds to the image. It is nicely softened without becoming a distraction. This should see a lot of features!

  • Lois Bryan replied

Darling boy … you’re the BESTEST!!! Thank you sooo much!!! Yes, the Orton is fabulous for giving an image atmosphere, sometimes. I love it … but with the Wacom tablet, it was such fun to pick the details in the flowers back out again. The porch swing was already fairly soft from the natural dof of the camera, but I had a lot of fun softening it further in Corel Paint with some of the brushes there. I’m learning so many fun things … and it’s sooo gratifying when what I’m trying out is acceptable to the eyes of such fabulous photographers as yourself!!! Thank you sooo much, sweetie!!!!! Hugzzzz!!!!

  • Joanne Bradley

    Joanne Bradley

Oh I want a front porch like this! How lovely and charming! Great composition and pov and the treatment turns into a postcard image!

  • Rebecca Cozart

    Rebecca Cozart

Lovely composition. Way more work that I want to do on an image, but I guess that’s why yours are winners and admired! Congrats.

  • Lois Bryan replied

Hi Rebecca!!!! Thank you so much!!!! But … that’s just the point … believe me .. and I am NOT kidding … if it WERE WORK … i wouldn’t be doing it!!!! It’s truly, truly PLAY!!!!!

  • Jan Piller

    Jan Piller
