Play time by Heather King

When I was waiting to find my momma snowy owl goddess early one morning in February 2012, at 7am I spotted these 2 snowy owls playing and having fun. I know one for certain is a male because when I was watching him through my long lens, his front was completely white (he was looking right at me).
Male snowy owls aren’t always pure white, they just have a lot less black markings/spots than the females.
Unfortunately the image is so tiny I could only upload it as a card, but still, I was quite thrilled to have witnessed this magic as I have never seen 2 snowys interacting so closely before ♥

Taken on outskirts of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in a farmer’s field.
Canon Rebel EOS XS
Lens – EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS II
