My beautiful snowy momma goddess.
This photo is from the first month in getting to know her. She reminds me of a stuffed animal come to life in this one. I miss her and wish her well daily. I hope she enjoyed her time her and returns to the artic with many lovely happy stories to share with the rest of the snowys♥

Taken on outskirts of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in a farmer’s field.
Canon Rebel EOS XS
Lens – EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS II

cool title, never saw one, must be an amazing experience to witness :)

  • really? I hope you get to at some point:)
This snowy owl (all the snowy owls I photographed are the same snowy owl! She was/is my muse. Just to be able to sit and silently observe and talk to her when all the photographers left…having that bond…for months braving the bitter cold…was thee most amazing experience of my life thus far!

I know just how you felt, my first bald eagle experience was that way for me :) and I get just as attached to just about any bird I see repeatedly. You cant help but love them and appreciate them giving us the pleasure of their company :)

  • That is beautiful
I would love to hear the story of your first bald eagle experience!
It’s a bitter sweet feeling when they depart is it not?
In order to deal with the departure of this snowy owl, my room is adorned in dozens of framed prints of her and everything else…they are wise and offer so much spiritually.
So glad you feel the same:)
