Beautiful. The details are incredible

Thank you Mary Ann.
I set my camera on my tripod. Took 10 shots, varing the exposure. As the degrees of brightness and darkness would be recorded at different levels. Then I took those 10 shots and tossed out 3. I used 7 of the shots to overlap ontop of each other, varying the amount of detail kept and added to the next image. Which is the HDR process and then i turned it into a B&W. As I processed this, right behind me is a frame photo from Ansel Adams, from the Mural Project. I would look at it and see if mine was matching the levels of contrast.

Wow. That sounds harder than photoshop, which I am trying to understand.

WOW AGAIN this picture pulls you right in… A perfect choice in black and white

Thank you!
A favorite of mine. Though the colored version is being used as my wallpaper.
The HDR process helped bring out more detail in the shadows, but the conversion to B&W really makes it stand out.

Stand out it does, a great image again!
Thank you for describing your process, very interesting. If I may ask, how do you go about focus in your images, do you use narrow focus from the start or change that later as well?
LocustFurnace replied
Thanks Ronald.
Most times I will use as narrow of focus as I can. For a shot like this, it’s better to use Infinity I think. Manual focus ofcourse.
The G9 has a dial you spin to set the focus with a indicator bar.
I miss the tick marks (not present on today’s lens) where you can check the DOF by looking on the barrel.
