Looking toward Mt. Wellington from the Eastern Shore in Hobart, Tasmania.
BEST VIEWED LARGE (It’s a small boat).
Canon 40D + 17-85mm + Polarising Filter
blue, boat, derwent, dusk, gold, hobart, loco, lomas, mountain, river, sky, tasmania, water
Great dramatic shot. I like the way the light is focused around the boat.
What a fantastic shot. So stunning! the light and color work exceptionally together!
absolutely beautiful shot. Question, does the shot when you took it look like that or is it the treatment that enhances the photo? no disrespect, i’m a novice and trying to learn the difference between the real and the post treatment effects.
I didn’t really do much to this at all. I only very slightly darkened the edges (by duplicating the original layer – making it darker using the curves tool – then cut a hole in the centre and feathered the edge by 250 pixels). I took the photo at dusk using a polarizing filter and purposely under exposed the camera because it was just too bright.
At the time, I took about 120 shots (gotta love digital) and only worked on 4 them. Some of the shots involved lying in wet sand. I find it hard to get a perfectly level horizon, usually because I hold the camera so low that I cant look into the viewfinder. There is another shot that I really like but have not posted as yet. Thanks for your kind comments!

So gorgeous and serene! I’m heading down to Tassie in June, can’t wait to see all this beauty.
Beautiful light and scenery, well done.
