I Don't Think So
The Minnesota Zoo, in Apple Valley, Minnesota, is one of my favorite zoos to shoot in. I love the natural enclosures and thier size. The zoo does a great job ensuring these animals have a safe and natural habitat.

Awesome, I just did some shooting in Como Zoo in Minnesota, and was pleased with some of my shots. I did get a wolf, not as good as this, but through the fence, and the fence does not show.
This was a instant fav. for me. Bravo. I want a 400 or 600 lens.
Scott Denny replied
Hmmmm…I did not know there was another zoo in the area. Something to certainly check out.
A 400mm or 600mm will certainly weigh heavy on your cash flow. I chose the prime 400mm f/5.6 for budget reasons. It in itself was $1200. The faster 400mm and 600mm will easily run you into multy thousands pre lens.
Good luck with your lens choice. Thanks for the tip on the other zoo.

I don’t think so either…LOL. Beautiful. Love this animal, they are so misunderstood. Was always afraid of them until I met one face to face.
Scott Denny replied
This is a Mexican Wolf. Like many wolf breeds they have had some trouble. My understanding is they are no longer wild, only captive.
To me forms of media really give certain animals a bad rap. Take the bear for instance. I was at a bear conservancy in Minnesota last year. I never realized until they displayed old Sport Afield magazine covers just how bad they protrayed bears. They protray them and mad (crazy) and ruthless maneaters.
I think wolves get deal the same crappy hand.
Thanks for your continued support.

I agree with you. Wildlife gets a bad rap most of the time. There’s a reason they’re called “wild”life. I know people have been mauled by bears, but I don’t think all the facts are in the stories. Any wildlife will fight to protect their young whether you see them or not. I certainly wouldn’t try to pet a bear in the wild but, I also don’t think they would normally attack me without some type of provocation. I hike alone in the wilderness quite often and although I haven’t seen a lot of wildlife, what I have seen generally goes the other way. Have never been intimated by any animals I run into. But I certainly show them the respect they deserve…LOL.
Scott Denny replied
That s just being wise my friend…just being wise.
