The Ord River,passing west of Kununurra and ending at the Indian Ocean in the Cambridge Gulf. The Ord river is one of Western Australia’s most scenic and significant waterways.
The Ord River has two man made barriers along its length. There is the Diversion Dam which is west of the town and was built to allow water to be diverted to farming areas. Below this dam the river flows to the Cambridge Gulf.
