Raukokore Church, built in 1894 in the small settlement of Raukokore, East Cape, North Island New Zealand, close to the mouth of the Raukokore River.
Raukokore’s most notable feature is its Anglican church, a landmark of the East Cape region.
This lonely church stands imposingly on a rocky outcrop facing the sea.
You will find a welcome sign on the door and a note apologising for the smell (There are penguins nesting under the floorboards).
