Cabbage Tree - Urquharts Bay.

Lynne Haselden

Cabbage Tree - Urquharts Bay.

The native New Zealand Cordyline Australis aka Cabbage Tree and having the maori name of Te Tii. Named Cabbage Tree because the soft heart at the base of the leaves is reminiscent of cabbage. I’ve tried it and its much nicer than cabbage. This tree is actually a gigantic member of the dracaena family.
This photo has been given a single photo psuedo hdr treatment then layered with a grain merge texture.
