Awesome touch on the dress. The painting itself is quite symbolic. When a person draws or paints him/herself in a therapeutic setting they often do so with a tree. It’s the first thing I think of when I see a human form mixed with a tree. Rooted, grounded and forever growing. Even if cut down it will grow again. The tree is such a great symbol. Add a woman in the image and you’ve got spirituality meeting art. Quite a nice union I must say.

I am not sure what I like best about this. It is sort of a ‘Mother Earth’ interpretation for the new millenium. The rooted dress may be the clincher that makes this a fabulous work of art.
