I PAINT CERTAIN PAINTINGS, AS WITH THIS ONE, LISTENING TO CLASSICAL MUSIC AND GO INTO A SORT OF TRANCE LIKE STATE, ALLOWING SPIRITUAL ENERGY TO DICTATE. AS I AM A SPIRITUALIST I AM VERY MUCH AWARE OF ENERGY ALL THE TIME

THIS PAINTING DEVELOPED ALMOST INDEPENDANTLY. TURNING THE CANVAS AT TIMES; AS WITH OTHERS DONE IN THIS FASHION IT SEEMED TO TAKE ON ITS OWN LIFE AND I NEVER KNEW WHERE I WAS GOING WITH IT – OR RATHER WHERE IT WAS TAKING ME.
BUT IT SUDDENLY SEEMS TO REACH ITS OWN COMPLETION, AND ITS “COMPOSITION” IS VERY MUCH INFLUENCED BY THE MUSIC.

    Carson I am delighted to be a memeber of Remodernist Painters; Thank you so much for your comment, it comes very close to how this developed. Awakening was painted over another painting, a sunset… that just wasn’t working for me. What is just visible within the jewel is all that remains of the painting underneath. There was no plan or thought – I simply let myself go, and painted this in trance – a totally spiritual painting.
