Just out of interest, did you have to pay people to get their photos? I had so much trouble with catching people’s faces in Morocco – they are incredibly camera shy.
Thanks so much for your comments:-)) I didn’t pay Mama Miriam, but I gave her many prints of different photos, she only lived an hour away from where i lived for 18 months. But very often , particular in Zanzibar would I pay somebody to come with me as a guide and to ask people if I could photograph them.
