I’ve managed to kick my butt into gear and get all the Semester 2 paintings and drawings up online finally. Sorry for the mass upload, but please take a look if you’re interested! :)

What next?

Posted about 1 year ago

With 2008 drawing to a close, and the Advanced Diploma all over and finished, I guess it means that it’s the time to plan ahead.

I’ve decided, with much coercion from many directions chuckle, to continue my studies and finish off the Bachelor of Fine Art at Newcastle University next year. I’ll be majoring in Painting, but I’m still deciding which of the other areas I’d like to explore a li…

2008 Gili Award Winner - ME!

Posted about 1 year ago

I heard the news today that I’ve won the 2008 Gili Award for Academic Excellence by an indigenous student from the Department of Education and Training!

My deepest thanks to head teacher of Newcastle Art School, John Morris, for nominating me. I’m still in shock at the news.

WOW. :D

A few minor things are needed here and there, cleaning the walls after my scrupulous measuring techniques laden them with all sorts of lines and paraphernalia, getting the vinyls up and looking all slick and cool, and da duh duh dummmm.. the catalogues. THE most tedious, annoying job.. burden to all, but a necessary evil. ...

Finally, Some New Pictures...

Posted about 1 year ago

Hi to all my watchers and lurkers. I have been just a little too quiet around here for a long while now.

The Advanced Diploma year is in full swing, and I’m currently putting together a suite of works for an upcoming group exhibition which will open mid-May, so I have been busy!

I’ve managed to document the finished* pieces I have so far, though they may or may not make it to the walls of…

Still Here!

Posted over 2 years ago

My apologies for the lack of new work of late. It has been a maniacal time, coming into final assessments for the year, plus lots of group shows, and many, many all nighters madly, madly getting work ready.

It will be over soon though! We’ll be all finished up after Thursday, and what a HUGE relief that will be, though a little sad at the same time.

I’m planning to get my most recent pain…

The Journey Series...

Posted over 2 years ago

Hmm, where to start???

The Journey series started out as a single painting, as most of my series do, exploring layers and use of colour.

Living and breathing art through the art school I go to, and constantly being inspired by the people who teach me, has pushed me so much further into experimentation than I would have ever gone in an isolated art practice, but it also prompted me to look…
