This is “Little One” and he just came out of my pocket where he found my stash of nuts. This is a chipmunk. They look similar to baby ground squirrels, but the distinct difference is chipmunks have stripes all the way up their faces to their little pointed noses. A full grown golden mantel ground squirrel is about twice the size of a chipmunk. Chipmunks can scale just about anything. Ground squirrels, on the other hand, burrow into the ground and are clumsy at climbing very high. It’s cute watching them try though!
I taught Little One to come to my second story window to get nuts in the evening after Chippy and the crew were bedded down for the night.
