Love....with a bitter twist.

I gave you all I had
but you robbed me of My Self
I had no worldly goods
but you took away my wealth

You took my smile
you took my mind
my creativity got left behind
you took my body and…
you robbed me blind

I could not think
you left me in confusion
you said I had the problem
and you made an allusion
you said I couldn’t cope
and you morphed me with your thoughts
….which was a vile intrusion

Years and years I was denied and suppressed
I tried to make it work
and I gave you all my best
but love was not to be for me
it never did exist
oh yes…..you said you “loved me”
but it had a bitter twist.

Love....with a bitter twist. by

Dedicated to my Love who is still stuck, and to my daughter, thankfully she escaped, and to myself and others out there who feel the pain.

We all have the same experiences as we are all human.

  • Mmmmm….all except monkeys of course! But I expect they have similar feelings!

So very well written Maureen ……… there are too many men these days that treat women with little or no respect and I applaud any woman or man who stands up to their opressor so they can be handed out the punishment that fits their crime! – David :>))

  • Thanks so much for your comments….not all men treat women badly…there are women who abuse too. Trouble is sometimes abuse is not recognised as such because there are no physical scars and so the abusers dont really realise what they are doing….the best a person can do is to leave.
