The City of Bells, Gold Goblets and Mint Julep
:)
I had wings
I stood in a white hotel room…gazing out an open window and climbed a high tower holding a teddy bear…breathing in every inch of a city so alive I could feel it burn.
I met a beautiful woman in the city of bells, whose hair appeared to be on fire. So much so that whenever she moved she cast a glow on the grey buildings around me..she cast a glow like a spell…on my soul. I caught a butterfly in my hand, her lips as red as Uluru, a red paper rose adorning her wing. I wondered how she would fly with the weight of that rose …but I knew somehow she would.
I drank honey like water and watched lovers dance through windows of a thousand lights. They reminded me of diamonds and toffee and all things love. I heard myself whisper ‘please hold on to what you have, it may be gone tomorrow’. I starred in my own movie with a hot director and a red parasol carrying librarian who fed me tiny mocha filled cupcakes during outtakes. I sat around a table and drank the warm words and tender smiles of those I love most and those I had only known for a short time. I drank them from a gold goblet with vodka and ice, cigarettes, 45’s and a wistful ‘Sunday kind of Love’
I touched a red sunset and drank ‘Salad Punch’ high above the clouds on a rooftop in Brussels…with sexy cowgirls and naked fairies who ran fingers through my hair, kissed me, laughed with me, sang with me…flew with me.
