patter, patter, patter
rhythmic footprints race through the dense forest
faster and faster, the morning mist stirs as the predator locks in on its target
sensing danger, the little blue bird flutters from its perch, to a location just out of reach
the footprints speed up, sensing a chase
through the dim lights and laughter, he glances over the crowd
his eyes lock on her exposed back, shoulders slumped, arms crossed on the bar
he watches as she slowly sips her tall glass
she moves fluently through the crowd
he surveys the situation and beings to move closer
the little blue bird sits, watching as the fox paws around, trying to pick up a scent
circling around the base of the moss covered tree, fox watches as the swallow stretches her wings
a little blue feather floats slowly to the ground
she flicks her long, blonde hair, sending the faint scent of her perfume in his direction
breathing in the scent, he moves closer, watching intrigued as she talks, with her back to him
realizing his presence, she turns, catching his eye
seconds tick and her lips curl into a smile
his eyes lock on hers briefly as he moves across the floor
she spins her head, a baby blue bow falls from her icy white hair
she flutters her eyelashes, but the chase is over
his teeth close on her neck, ready for the kill
the chase is over
