Greet your knife to my back
And I’ll laugh
For I sit and I wait in the dark

And I’m trying
To learn just to live
And I’m trying
To grow just to give

But it’s getting so hard, I give in
Growing so tired of coping
Feeling so sick from this thing

Ignorance seemed such a bliss
And I’m growing so tired
Of the chains

The same old repeated refrain
The same old just get up and go
The same old nothing to lean on

The same emptiness in my room
The feelings once felt now return
The beast in me growls and it burns

And I’m reaching for things I can’t see
Be it God, be it him, be it me

Oddly no matter how long we live we keep on having to learn this Rachael – we get damned tired but we keep trying and that’s ultimately what it’s all about. Sharing the struggle is one way we learn, I’ve found. This is a wonderful expression my friend of something inside all of us that just wants so badly to lay down the load and just BE and be loved for just being ourselves. Phenomenal piece of work Rachael – you’ve touched me as you always do!

looking for things you can’t see
watching what lies beyond, this pain and agony
what you can’t find is what you’ll eventually receive…
just don’t give up and stay
be strong enough to walk away
    ...
    whatever you do,
    have faith
there are things meant to be your’s
    in the faraway place…

    :)

felt good reading your poem after a long time…
    i must say – you’re doing great!

    keep writing…
    cheers!

Rachael your writing is superb. You made so many wonderful thoughts in this. I especially loved the ending –
‘And I’m reaching for things I can’t see
Be it God, be it him, be it me’

Super thoughts, it really touched me – Smiles from Jane:-)
