This is my little photographers assistant :)) My son is always willing to carry my tripod bag when we go out, although it’s heavy and I nearly always end up carrying it in the end. He was actually being the main photographer on this occasion and I caught him off guard setting up his little compact camera he shares with his sister. The alleyway is part of a series of walks originally constructed for railway workers back in the mid 1800’s to enable them to get from their homes to work at the railway station at Shrub Hill, Worcester. Apart from concreted paths along the way, little has changed on the route.

it actually looks like someone leaning on the wall from the 1800’s, love the mood and the birds in the distance….perfect Lissy!

  • Thank you Ingrid, I was hoping that it would come across like this, apart from the tripod factor, he reminded me so much of ghosts of the past that must’ve walked this way many a time x

I actually think the tripod is perfect as at first I thought it was some sort of tool…like a shovel! before I read your explanation.

  • ooh yes, he could be an apprentice stoker working on the steam trains :)) I found out a few years ago that quite a few railway workers occupied the house we live in now, so many of them must’ve walked the same route that we did in order to get to work. Always feel quite humbled thinking about those that have gone before and what their lives must’ve been like xx

What a wonderfully captured image, I like this one very much indeed!!

  • thank you very much Carol, giving myself a project to do (for my book of Worcester images) motivated me to use my camera so much more. I need to think of a new project as the poor camera has been stuck in the bag for a while now!
