Apologies for not getting round to commenting on your work this last week. I’ve unfortunately been ill with Parvovirus B19 (commonly known as ‘slapped cheek syndrome or 5th disease) It’s left me not only very itchy in the early stages but with very painful joints, especially in my wrists and hands. It’s so frustrating not being able to do as much as I’d like online as usual. I promise to catch up with you all as soon as I’m able xx

Gorgeous work!!! Isn’t that the virus that dogs are susceptible to as well? Sorry you have been ill! Hope you feel better soon! :)

  • thank you Angie and yes it is, and the plain old parvovirus can prove fatal for dogs. My son had it last week, and it’s being doing the rounds in school for a while. I started with flu like symptoms a week ago then a few days later the itching started then the joint pain. Thankfully I haven’t had the bright red cheeks that my son had but it’s really knocked me for six

Firstly, I never heard of Parvovirus B19 in any of its names.. how awful for you, Lissy..how does one contract that? How long until it runs its course and you are 100% again? Goodness, poor you….
Secondly, this image is so lovely and the colors are so pretty with perfect dof….they are all attending to their plumage and getting stretching exercise at the same time.. multi-taskers that they are…
Seriously hope you are on the mend and just take care not certainly no worries about commenting on my stuff…just rest!

  • hey Kat, thank you for your lovely words xx re the illness, I admit I didn’t know much about it until my son came home with a letter from school over a month ago saying that there had been a number or reported cases of the virus and although some of the symptoms are uncomfortable it’s not harmful. With children they get very red cheeks, like they’ve been slapped and some itching on their limbs and it can reoccur when hot, or stressed, but gradually disappears. With adults it can start with flu like symptoms, which I had 2 weeks ago, then a fine lace like rash appears on the body, itching is also common – my feet were the worst! Once the itching subsided I was left with very painful joints in my knees, ankles wrists and hands. The itching keeps coming back but is milder and can last anything from a few days to even years in some cases, but it’s not harmful. Today’s a good day, I’m taking anti histamine tablets for the itching and painkillers for my joints. The hazzards of having kids who like to pick up every germ going eh! xx

  • bless you Polly, I have missed you on here you know!! Having a slightly better day today, fingers are working ok at the moment without too much stiffness so I’m taking advantage while I can! Just waiting for the anti histamine tablet to kick in then I’ll be smiling :))
