I’ve had this idea in my head for quite a while as I live in an old house, 140years old in fact. Most of the original features have sadly disappeared, but a few gems remain. I’ve done a bit of research on the house and have found through census records who lived in our home before us, and spookily enough, the first people to move in also had 2 children – a boy and a girl, just like us and of a similar age apart, so this is my tribute to them, and those that went before

Well done Lissy, daughter and Lissy’s Mum – you have all made this into a fantastic image – most certainly a story through an image !!
thank you Mattie, it wasn’t an easy image to do, the room being my own bedroom and my tribute to the house as it’s very Victorian gothic in style unlike the rest of the house, so I wanted to get it just right

WOW! Fantastic Lissy. Remember the Black-Outs in the 1970s, we had to use candles. LOL
thank you very much Don, and oh my goodness do I ever remember! LOL I wasn’t very old, but certainly old enough to remember my mum rushing to get tea quickly before all the electricity went off. Candles everywhere and an awful lot of playing shadow puppets on the wall, and eye spy – not too easy in the half light, but all good fun :)

Awesome stuff. The costume, room lighting everything. Gives the old Victorian feeling. Great work. Is it wrong it makes me want to go on a ghost walk?
I’ve achieved the desired effect then LOL Most people find my bedroom a bit spooky, it’s very dark and gothic, but I find it very relaxing and theraputic being surrounded by elements of the past with all the wood panelling and dark walls….and the ghost only comes out in October!!!! hahahaha

looks like a scene from a suspense thriller film…just when a character is just about to scream in fear…great job, Sarah ;)
thank you very much Yhun, and she did yell out, when she tilted the candle and the wax was about to drip on her hand!
It was purely staged with her loving her drama, I just gave her a few pointers as to what was in my head and she did the rest

How lovely, Lissy and a sweet story. When I was a child in England we lived in a house that was built in 1763!
thank you Shulie, and how wonderful to live in a house that old. I don’t think I could ever live in a modern building. I’ve stayed in a couple of tudor thatched cottages in the past too, so full of character, just love them!
