Mostly this last week I've been rushed off my feet! by Lissywitch

Firstly apologies to you all for not being on here as often as I’d like and when I am I’m having to post and make very quick comments which isn’t how I like to do things.
This time of year is always a bit manic for me, what with my son’s birthday on the 2nd December, loads of school things happening and, well, that ‘C’ word is imminent!
I decided to put my Christmas decorations up a little bit earlier than normal this year, as last year was one we as a family wish to forget, it was a terrible time for us, so we’re making the most of it this year!
Monday was a magical time for us as a family, but most especially for my son and niece as they took part in the largest choir in the UK (around 5000 children I believe) all singing at an event called ‘Young Voices’. He has been practising his songs for the last few weeks, and we’ve all joined in (or suffered as the case may be) learning the words and listening to the music. It all finally came together on Monday night at the LG arena in Birmingham and despite only being able to spot my son through binoculars it was a fantastic night. He was still on a high the following morning and despite being allowed by the school to have a lie in (as they didn’t get home until 11pm) he was determined to attend school at his normal time to tell his friends all about it!
The Young Voices concert goes all round the country over the next 2 months and is in it’s 15th year. This is just a small part of what happened on the night :)

I’ve also created another photobook after finally finishing (well almost) my raw file processing from August onwards!
If you’d like a sneak preview of some of the works I’ll be uploading in the next few weeks, have a quick look here
My Imagination Photobook
Busy time of year for me, but I’ll always find a bit of time to catch up with you all xx

Goose bumps Lissy I love childrens voices in singing! Thanks for sharing this wonderful fun time! God bless them all!

  • Lissywitch:

it was absolutely amazing Tina, I freely admit I shed quite a few tears, the noise and enthusiasm was just out of this world! I’ve been before 2 yrs ago when my daughter took part, that time we were sat very high up and she was almost too far away on the other side of the arena for us to see, but we have her on dvd and now with my son, it’s a memory they’ll both cherish forever x

  • Lissywitch:

thank you Keith, the whole Young Voices organisation is amazing, it was the most amazing feeling in the world when my daughter first took part 2 yrs ago, and when my son saw the dvd that we bought of her event (they make sure that each child is videoed at some point during the show for the parents – how cool is that!) he was determined he was going to take part when he was old enough too!
He was on such a high when we came home, it was well gone midnight before we could calm him down enough to sleep!! :))
Very best wishes for Christmas to you too Keith xx

  • Lissywitch:

ooh it was the best feeling, crying, laughing and an overwhelming feeling of pride, and you’re so right, it is an amazing pick me up when you feel low! We still watch my daughter’s dvd from when took part in 2009.
My son has not stopped singing since Monday!! xx
