My name is Lise Richardson, and I’m a 20-year old professional artist of dual nationality (British & Finnish) based in Jyväskylä, Finland. I live with my mum and two dogs, spending much of my time with them when I’m not working. I also make little crochet dogs.
My artwork focuses on several topics, the most prominent of which are dogs and scenery. My main techniques are watercolour, marker and traditional drawing, and digital art created on Photoshop. Stylistically my work could be called intentional kitsch – the idea is to produce images that are loveable, pleasing to the eye and traditionally beautiful.
As a photographer my subjects usually focus on visually interesting places (historic towns are a particular favourite), and things, especially dogs, that I see on the street. I tend to take a lighthearted approach to my work, and find myself drawn more to humorous topics than anything else. I favour an artistic approach to photography and generally edit my work using Lightroom and Photoshop.
