Surfer girls....

The 2009 Rip Curl Women’s Pro was held over the Easter Weekend at Bells Beach. Saturday morning was cold, plenty of sea spray to coat my lens with, (I didn’t have a cleaning cloth), but the waves were okay, not huge, but good enough for a contest. These are some of the women that competed…. unfortunately I didn’t see the eventual winner Silvan Lima while we were there, but we did see Layne Beachley get knocked out of the competition by young Sally Fitzgibbons… this quite possibly was the last time that Layne will compete here as she announced her retirement recently

2 ~ the temporary grandstand starts to fill

3 ~ Alana Blanchard heads in for a practice…

You’ve done it again Lisa – fabulous work. I think the surfer girls in these shots would be very happy with the way you’ve captured them.
