My dad broke his back (complete rocovery) in a USAF jet whose landing gear didn’t come down. He modeled and described how he used the loo mirror to comb his hair and brush his teeth. This was what he described, a giraffe. And he did look like this little guy! He recovered and recertified as a military pilot, so life went on. If he’d been grounded, he’d have gone crazy.
