Canterbury Cathedral is lit from the outside at night. The pattern on the arches is light shining through the stained glass. I shot this lying on my back, alone under the massive arches of the cathedral while 240 children’s voices washed angelically over me. I was struck by how fiery the light appeared and how cool the windows seemed.

This is the song they were singing as I lay, alone with the dead, contemplating the ever after.
