my father who art in heaven

i was tracing soft black moments when a lick of salty wind brushed a soothing beauty into my too weak to fly flesh.

twilight.

falling hills kissed city fingers and the steady beat beneath my feet.

drummed.

you will never return.

a swallow me whole feeling left a scent of less than perfect.

and if “bad girls go to heaven”.

remember.

i willingly gave up my heavenly position for my father the day i was born.

I love your command of language and ability to conjure up the deepest emotions that touch all senses. Beautiful expression of love in a melancholy moment Lisa. :-) xxx

Bless your dad and you…this is so beautiful…
I hope all our dads are up there smiling and having a drink together for tomorrow…
It’s hit me hard this year, especially when the car broke down the other day,. He would’ve told me how to fix it, like in the old days :)
    Love

Beautiful write. :-) Wish I’d had a dad like that… xoxo

  • Thank you Sybille,

I had a classic absentee father; his inability to express emotion has had a massive impact on my life. I wrote this when my Father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s

I miss him and I did not really know him
    I love him
    xxxx

so much said in so little words and imagery…your personal journey. what is a “bad girl” we all have moments carved into our psyches from societies scrutiny and we take them on ourselves but does that make us, bad? I don’t think so…individual “true heart” emotive going forward as you are your fathers daughter, a royal princess whose existence is meaning full and valued
peace love and happiness always for you lisa, always

  • Oh Andrea, I agree with you….my ‘bad girls’ is a line from a song that is dear to my heart,
I believe we are a mix of good and bad….
thank you so much for your tender care xxx
