banks of a crystal flowing creek
banks of a crystal flowing creek belongs to the following groups:
All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Core [C.O.R.E], Pleasure & Pain, The Art of Pain, The Word Tree and Vibration in Art and Verse - VAVoom!I asked my best friend
to braid my broken veins
on the banks of crystal flowing creek
he said
“I am almost out of time”
I watched
as he cried
I took his hand
to my lips
we walked
in each others arms
toward the banks of the crystal flowing creek
we talked
I made him belly laugh one last time
he pulled his love knife out of my heart
like a fault beneath the earth
we stirred and splintered
an owl sang our
heart to heart song
“you shall never walk alone
inside my heart I will walk on
with you tucked up inside”
my friend and I
a solitary man
when he found me
a solitary man
when we parted
now walking apart
right or wrong
confused kin folk
grimaced
like birds caught in a wire
hoping they’d heard wrong
it can’t be true
best friends
soul mates
can’t go wrong
together
our hands still clinging tightly
said
it can
it has
like a river
long
we fought hard
over
time
into a foreign tributary
paddling separate canoes
in different directions
searching day and night
for the banks of a crystal flowing creek

God I just am totally there with this….I have so much to say but it all will come down to a few simple words…..I love you….you are so more real and that in itself has a pain all of it’s own attached to it. You will never walk alone….NEVER XXXXXXX You are far too precious X

this poem seems very personal, almost like a letter.. with the flowing river taking two people to different places.. beautifully written
Lisa Jewell replied
Hey Red,
after I read your comment, I did freak a bit as it is very personal, I woke this morning and decided it should be up – and when I consider my work, each piece really is a part of me….
thank you xxx

You know, best friends and soul mates are forever and in many cases, unconditional. Whereas lovers are so very conditional and in many cases, temporary. You will always be in my heart and so will the crystal flowing creek. Many deep, warm hugs to you beautiful Lisa! X

One of the saddest yet most beautiful pieces I’ve read. Hearts are so strong and meant to be broken at times, and you know what I told you. I am proud that you decided to republicate (is this a word) this piece.
Lisa Jewell replied
Thank you so much…so very much X x X
Erika .
This has to be the most beautiful deep and profound poem of unconditional love I have read in a long while…..this is just utterly beautiful Lisa. And I agree with what Robert has said. Very true and wise words…This is a super favorite. XX

I am so glad you read “unconditional love”.....
and indeed, Robert did say it wisely….

Those last ‘things’ – the prolonging the agony things – you write here with
a clarity I can feel; the wrenching from skin one felt to be in and of each other
for all time.
a solitary man when he found me
a solitary man when we parted
now walking apart
right or wrong

My God Lisa, this is the best piece you’ve ever lived and breathed.
In the midst of sadness you’ve conjured a beauty, a dream of what was, in hopes of what might yet become.
I’m crying for this and for you because this is the beauty that is the woman I’ve come to call my friend.
My wish for you is that life leads you as you lead it, hand in hand into contented horizons.
I love you sweetheart, more than you’ll ever know….just wow…..
Lisa Jewell replied
I’m still at a loss for words…...xxx I’ll get there.

Matt Penfold
This is so real and so beautifully written Lisa, I feel the sadness and finality in it, I see you crying over it… It had the same effect on me when I read it months ago, very evocative and powerful. x
Lisa Jewell replied
I woke thinking about this piece…..
and missing that what was.
a real sense of being alone has grabbed me in its vice grip..
I’ve got to swallow hard…
xo
Matt Penfold
That sense of being alone is cold and cruel and deceptive, sometimes it takes far more than it’s fair share of the stage and stops all the real stars from shining… you’ve plenty of real stars loosening the vice Lisa x
Lisa Jewell replied
if you were not so far, I’d run to you for a cuddle.
