Creation of Love

a puppeteer strokes the strings
of his polished masterpiece
his tears lubricate joints
fingertips caress her smooth form
as he tenderly dresses her
in garments spun of flaxen
time slows in the joining
of Pygmalion and Ivory
a love affair of creation
his tears and longing
her

Lisa this is a sophisticated and brilliantly crisp rendition of ‘Pygmalion’ – love it!

a second thought…..(as usual – I’m so impulsive at times)…..Lisa the comments on the right are equally beautiful and even more touching to me…especially:-

“…Don’t forget to hum, don’t forget to look into the eyes of one you adore and tell them, thank you….I love you…” so true and so lovely to read.

Perhaps we can hum to the beat of our ’ love drum’ !! xs

Thank you Suzanne, I’ve always loved the story of Pygmalion – one of my hidden hopes is to one day sculpt…not to sculpt the perfect simulacrum, Pygmalion style…but the concept of adding myself to clay to form beauty, is an electrifying thought….

As for the hum….just do it……………

I was actually singing last night – first time in a long while – got my acoustic guitar out and sang all my old favourite songs from the 70s…remembering and feeling like it was in the 70s was a cool experience – transporting.

I started remembering songs I’d forgotten for ages – all the old Carol King and Jim Croce songs -(yes I’m romantic!) – And also some jazzy bluesey ones too – had a ball – my fingers are a little stiff this morning! That guitar and me had ourselves a good ole’ time last night!

    I hummed and I strummed – a lot!!!!

Music, listening to, creating …is transforming and transporting, so glad you had such a nostalgic time, irrespective of a few sore fingers…they’ll recover…:))) soak in milk, that is what my mum says LOL….

Gisele, I hope the romantic in each of us never dies…..being romantic, traverses all barriers…I think…

Kristy, thank you so much, I don’t know if it is my best but the compliment is lovely…

Hi Loredana, glad to know you are humming….thank you…
