Cheek

Dearest Friend,

Why did you allow my cheek to rest in the groove of yours?
Why did your ears elfishly point to attention
listening to my train wreck tongue?
when your need exceeds what I now find mine to be of such is life consequence

I would have turned my cheek and given it to you
we could have taken it in turns
alas your tongue was silent
mine oiled and charging down your tear stained strip
hell bent on reaching the chequered flag
not looking behind
missing your desperate need

Here I stand on the podium
you stand alone in the crowd
looking just like I did until you gave me your cheek
my cheek craves yours
sunken softly into it
for as long as you need, Dearest Friend

Love,
Lisa
