Memories

Recently, by chance as it can be here on Redbubble…. I came across a painting by
Midori Furze

I swallowed my breath in awe. I could not stop gazing upon its beauty; I was so inspired I asked Midori if I could write a piece. This is my interpretation of Memories

Memories belongs to the following groups:

"Poetry and Beautiful Women" , All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Core [C.O.R.E], Freedom In Words & Art, Freedom to Shine, Midnight Ramblers, Reaching Freedom, The Art of Pain, Vibration in Art and Verse - VAVoom! and Woman Appreciation

My eyelids quiver with anticipation
finally inviting
the hush of darkness
ushering time back to you

There you are
hovering inside my heart
as you shall eternally remain.

Your voice
strokes all my senses

My voice
speaks promises

Yes my love
I will always wear a pony tail
I shall hold this pose
forever; if you will it

Shrouded inside of you
I no longer wonder
how your hand
stroked my outline
filling in my flesh
with dew drop colour

Loving me onto a canvas

My love
I wipe your tears
from my own eyes
your face once hidden
is now part of me

I now understand
why you insisted
I should remain
turned from you

Your thoughts
helix all of mine

‘Leave me with your pony tail
and the sweet taste of your skin
that curves your delicate spine -
inside my memory’

Daylight has taken
You my love
I hang; willing myself to turn
and visit your final rest

But my promise
keeps the days with me

I will forever
remember our last day

My last pose.

This actually evokes some memories for myself and of past loves.

As always Lisa you’ve outdone yourself. So many emotions are brought about as a result of the combination of the art and poetry.

You’re a masterful writer my friend, full stop.

    bitter-sweet – achingly lovely words

    Your thoughts
    helix all of mine

why do we see beauty so clearly only as it turns to leave?
is it that without the sorrow of parting, beauty is shrouded in the usual?
if we gave up our sorrows would beauty leave too?

your writing raises so many questions for me.

  • Lisa Jewell replied 26 days ago

Oh I hope not, I am certain not for I see your beauty all of the time…
I find sorrows and beauty can coexist…

Awww. This is soooooo beautiful. To think that this painting got you to be inspired to write these words. “I will forever remember our last day. My last pose.” I guess since you wrote this, you are also saying goodbye to the painting. Iris

Beautiful Lisa. A reminder that life often leaves us with memories only like an arrow, we carry them around protectively. xx
