Awkward title I know but…. this man I drew in Life drawing class sat for one hour; head forward hugging his knees. As I drew this man he drifted and his face softened, he was almost asleep. He is the Almost Sleeping Man.
I drew this many (many!) years ago, it is charcoal on butchers paper and has been lugged from place to place every time I have moved, he has lived in folio’s, under my bed, rolled up, been torn and rained on. Last year for Mothers Day I had him framed for myself, he now lives in my hall – just near the front door. I will post the original from photo at a later date. So now he lives on monitors all around the world.
When people walk in my house he is one of the first things they see, some people find him (all battered and torn) a little disconcerting – I kind of like that.
