This is an image inspired by a little girl that attended an art work shop that I ran within an exhibition in Melbourne. A shy retiring girl, I’ve met her a few times, this year in April she stayed with me and some other children to paint.

After a slow start she knew exactly what she wanted to do and proceeded to churn out some of the most amazing abstract work, she would stop to mix new palette’s and each work was vastly different from the previous one. It was like they were all in her head, in sequence just wanting to get out. She did not mingle, but was very content working away. I hope to see her again one day.

This is for Lucia.

Here we are given the opportunity to own these wonderful insights into our human state; these remarkable images combine Lisa’s unique handmade graphic style often using embedded text and her trade mark ‘ faceless dolls’ to render us truly moved. These seemingly innocuous little people transport us into the core of our deepest emotions, hopes and fears.

Some people are often referred to as an ‘artist since birth’. Sounds like that little girl was a good example. Let’s hope she keeps her artistic ideas and discovers many ways to display them.
This is a great piece of work, I love the grainy background.

just beautiful – i love the colour you have used – as for the little girl she sounds wonderful – self – contained happiness – i think that is something special as is your art.

Thank you Stephen – very much, my desk is full of charcoal at the moment, much cleaning required due to this back ground:)

Thank you Deborah, such a beautiful thing to say X.

The lack of any facial features makes one think about ‘filling in the blanks’…

You have a great collection of art, Lisadee!

Lisa She is stunning!! She’s a study of artistic concentration and the joy of letting out the amazing talent that is just waiting to bloom in a child or adult.
Children are our teachers, they can show so much with so little, Just like your art, no expression is necessary.
    Beautiful:)
