Such a wonderful image, and so positive! It feels like excitement.
Lisadee, about 1 year ago
Yeah – excitement I like that. It is kind of a ‘buzz’ when you think your on to something creatively – yes?

Thank you, thank you Pabs…
Ahh the elusive publishing deal – we should talk, i think i will revisit these characters and perhaps weave them into a story, i did present them as you see them as a C’Book based on emotions Children feel but perhaps cannot express/ verbalize/ distinguish or emote. Perhaps it requires a little rework and more of a traditional story book format, i wanted the images to be explored and talked about, i also thought they might prove to be a tool to help identify where a child is ‘at’ emotionally, a passive yet insightful book, left open to interpretation. Children are much more insightful and creative than they are often given credit for. They could be shown the book select a page and tell us what the story is – that would be far more interesting, then when they are older they might revisit the book and glean more from the images by reading the text.
Thanks Andrew for the vote of support.
Actually – some feed back from all on this would be appreciated.

Your illustration style does evoke children’s book illustration quite strongly, it’s not just the style but the intent also. It is pure and emotional too.
There are children’s picture books with minimal words so that shouldn’t be a problem.
I went to a reading by Tony Wilson (ex RRR ‘Breakfaster’) and he showed the children’s book ‘Grannysaurus Rex’ I think it was, that he wrote the words for and an artist illustrated, which is a common way it works. I think that was set up by the publishers. He had never written a children’s book before.
He is known somewhat for his novel and his media profile, so that is probably why it was put together. Publishers want to sell books, so a ‘name’ is a way to do it.
I’m not being cynical, it just seems the way it is. It’s just an opinion. I’m not sure how hard it is to get into children’s books.
There is also Curriculum Corporation who make children’s books for schools who put artist’s work on file and if a suitable project comes up they contact you. It was a few years ago that I found this out, so not sure how it works now.

Love the simple evocativeness of this. I used to be in a band called Magenta Rose as well which consisted of bass, drums/percussion and cello and was very passionate about creativity and uniqueness. Great pic
