Yup backed into a corner, feeling small and inferior…. lets just say i didn’t really have to make that one up. As a kid – justly or not it – i am sure we have all experienced it in one form or another, a harsh word, nasty teacher etc…....................
Just a note….i didn’t post this till now as some friends of mine found some of the ‘sadder’ images a bit disturbing.
Haha – see – they’re contagious, RB infects you with them :) I sent an email at work today to my managing director with a bloody smilie – she must wonder where my head’s at nowadays.
As for your image, I think it’s wonderful! I think it’s really well done to rip a reaction out of people, and this does. I don’t find it disturbing at all – I know we all get sad sometimes. The keyhole view is awesome, and I’m still loving the mix of text :)
That’s a really powerful image – I can see why your friend might find these disturbing, I would imagine they could cut through to some pretty deep memories for some people. Very moving art! : – D
Hello Missy!!!!! This piece is fantastic, great composition – I adore your style i dont know what it is about it it just fantastic – this one has a dark feel to it =)
just seen this – its really powerful (without boring you with the details or going down the self-pitying road) this speaks volumes about how i felt when i was a child – could never articulate it though – the works here ‘betrayal, fear, shame….’ so powerful!!! I can so relate to your work Lisa – the joys of childhood, parenthood, and the fears in both – you can encapsulate it so beautifully in your work.
