The Love...

I was asked by a very good and caring individual to create this work for his partner as a gift.

Often when I create these images I find there is a lot of thought put into the positioning of their arms and the gestures communicated by say the tilt of their head, or torso. As the faces are not apparent it is up to me to communicate what I perceive with the use of line, texture and shadow.

As I drew this piece I speculated, and I do not know this couple well enough to know these things, but let’s just say the ideas came through as I created this work.

The character to the left is lurching back ever so slightly, while the character on the right embraces his face – looking directly at him. He sees ‘Red’ for who he truly is.

Red finds this disconcerting initially but his is one of the many reasons Red loves him.

Red bodily embraces “Grey” his energy and his passions, Red harnesses and grounds Grey enabling him to grow.

I hope you enjoy the work I have created for you guys and have no idea whether if any of what I have written is relevant but thought I would share my take on the work.
