LOVE! =D It’s the deepest mystery, and the highest attainment in this life, and in the life to come. It’s what prompted God to make humanity, and it’s what makes the world go round. Love is what brings two people together: in friendship, in marriage. True love, what will keep those relationships together even in tough times—obviously, don’t let yourself be abused, but don’t walk away from something beautiful just because you had a fight, or because times are tough, work through it (adversity makes strong when you come out the other side). Love is one of the elemental aspects of the nature of God as we are taught in the Bible. I believe that was deposited in mankind as a key factor of who we are (made in the image of God) and it’s something we all seek all the time. Which is why, Christians who get the point, true love just emanates from them, because they’ve been reconnected to the Master of Love and constantly commune with Him.
Love is something we all thirst for. Love is also the key element in things you might not consider to be ‘love’. In 1 Corinthians 13 (it’s called the love chapter :) it explains what love is: “…Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…”. In the same chapter, love is described as being more important than giving everything you have away to the poor, and even than giving up your own life, even though these things can both be done in love. It is also described as one of the three elements that will always be after there is nothing else: faith, hope, and love, and is described as the greatest of all three. If you put the description of love in context with someone who you might say has great wisdom, or is generous, kind, etc… I think you’ll find a lot of the time, it’s because they are operating in love, at least in some aspect. In fact, the only COMMANDMENT Jesus gave to believers in the New Testament was to love each other, even as He had loved them, and that was the thing by which everyone would know that they were followers of Him—John 13:34.
Even the intimate love between a man and a woman. I mean, God was the one who decided to make two sexes, the other sex of which Adam quickly named WOman!!! Lol. God’s word even describes His love for us like such passionate love between two lovers, just read the Song of Salomon.
Love breaks away chains, frees the heart, and strengthens bonds. Love shapes and changes lives. I firmly believe and know that Love, true love, Heavenly love from the Father, is what will draw the world to Jesus. Nothing else matters but love, if you don’t have it, get it! Get Jesus! Cultivate relationship with God.
God bless you!
