our hearts skip a beat with each step our child takes..
our smiles grow bigger with each funny they make..
our pride grows stronger when they become a mom..
and stumble like we did, but now understand right from wrong..
each generation will gain knowledge and strength..
whether they agree or not.. there are lessons at each gate…
baby steps turn too leaps, leaps turn too bounds…
hugs give strength and reassurance when they are down..
tears can be about sadness but the real sloppy ones are about pride…
the school recital, the cheerleader yell, the volley ball score..
the walk down the alter, the first born child….
so my dear one, remember this, mother hood began..
when you entered this world..and I held you in my hands
I was meant to be your mentor and friend,
your guidance teacher, your nurse, your shoulder, your dress maker,
your favorite singer of a song you will remember forever till the end.
Your strength when you feel defeated..
Your ever listening ear to take in your words of pain..
and hopefully turn them into sunshine..
taking away the rain..the hard and bad days..
I am mom, beaten and seasoned like a good steak,
my scars are hidden with each breath you take
sacrifices are the destiny of moms
I know you get it now..
and I am so proud you call me mother..
so sleep tight my dear, there is a place for us moms
in Gods light and arms we will find home..
and honor in knowing we did what we felt was right
what we learned we made tools of to give you… your light!
Yours and mine is the same goal
to love hard and strong
live right and true
My daughters of mine, I love you..
