our youngest granddaughter in my husbands arms at our camp this last weekend, she was loving all the sounds, the babbling creek, the birds, the sunshine and reflections on the water.. 04/24/2010
Safe in Grandpa’s Arms
Papa hold me tight
New sounds and smells are all around
My eyes are fixed on the breeze
The creek is wet, and running rapidly.
What was that bird that just flew by
A duck, woodpecker, finch or robin
Keep holding me strong for I am a little shaky
I am OK now papa I can feel your heart beat.
The air smells so crisp and sweet
I know we can not sit in the creek
So in your arms I get a birds eye view
Of the families favorite place of life anew.
Wrapped in your arms on this day
I will always know what life holds for me
Family, love, hugs, and adventures too seek
Of the vast world all around me at my reach.
I will always have this image of you and I
With this poem attached grandma wrote specially
Thank you, for being who you are
I will continue to bring sunshine in your hearts.
Dear Papa you make me feel safe
No matter where the place
Home, camp or a fishing hole
I will be your hippie granddaughter
Forever and ever more!
