My Valentine forever! by

I was 21
He was 43

He was getting ready to walk me down the aisle
in marriage even though he could see,

It would not last and tried to tell me so
but loved me so much, he went with the flow

My father, my friend, my mentor, my teacher
daddy I wish I had listened more carefully

But rest in peace in heaven, you know
I am fine,, just took some years to take in
your lessons about heart and soul.

I am listening more to my heart now
You will always be my Valentine,
You knew my heart!

This is a pic of my dad and I before leaving for the church in 1976
A marriage he warned me was not going to work.

Not a day goes by he is in my heart
So I honor him 32 yrs. later for Valentines Day

I am a self taught artist and have drawn and painted since I could hold crayons or a pencil in my hands..
My brain is an attic filled with treasures yet to be explored or recreated.. I am a Veteran,a wife, a mom, a grandmother, a sister, a daughter and a teacher!!! My pallet is full of life, color and energy.. I hope you will see and feel that in all of my artwork.

He can hear you, and he is listening to the words you reminded him about what he said that glorious 1976 year, and he is smiling. Your poem is so beautiful as it tells such a warm story of a beautiful daughter and her dad, being themselves, wow. The beauty of it all is captured in the picture and the poem. Congrats, on this lovely momento, may he rest in peace, and you two are a blessing to each other, in life, and the ever after. Thanks for sharing these wonderful feelings, memories, and picture of a glorious relationship of father and daughter.

  • Oh I know he hears me,, and watches over me,, thanks so much my friend for you lovely comment as always,, peace and love linmarie
