In nineteen hundred and sixty eight
I would doodle day and night
melt my crayons, draw around the shapes
with pens or pencil to make them belong.
Feelings were drawn in the silly shapes,
of hearts and peace, loves embrace
I was a dreamer with very few tools
What I didn’t realize was my paintings showed
I was in love with peace, art and song.
