Excellent image, and it is wonderful to see how quick nature can start to regenerate itself.

indeed the ferns are quite think on the floor of the forest in some areas. Nice work Lindsay.

Loo mate, this is fantastic! One of the most positive images to come out of this topic thus far. And the lighting composition and colour is bloody fantastic!!!!!!
Bev Woodman
I guess these signs of regrowth will give some hope to those who have suffered so much loss. The greening of the land will hopefully help the healing process. This is a sad but very beautiful image Lindsay – very touching.
Mark Jones
Came up very nice indeed. Your eye for the different perspective certainly sets you apart from others.

Nice shot Lindsay,
isnt it crazy, just went up there on friday it spun me out completely.
The trees and the ferns were the most amazing thing, there regrowth was wild. All this green under the black burnt trees.
Elana Bailey
So good to see some regrowth, Lindsay. Many thanks.

How cool is that stump! Try any close-ups? You gunna be out Tues night?
Lindsay Knowles replied
The stump was cool and I could spend hrs up there. I would call that a close up. I think I was about 50mm from it.(: I will b there Tuesday night at this stage.
Clinton Plowman
Stump looks like it would about 2 – 3 meters around from that perspective…

That’s nice. Just up the road from me in Carrum Downs was a small bushfire also, and I can see green returning to those trees.

Wonderful shot Lindsay-Can I ask how you felt taking shots. I really want to but am wary of being rude. Im guessing though that landscape stuff is fine
Lindsay Knowles replied
As Marysville was like a second home to me as I spent many and I mean many weekends up there I dont feel bad about photographing the bush.I could have spent hours in the bush but as I wasnt driving I couldnt stay there as long as I wanted to.
I refuse to take shots of houses and buildings up there.I really dont see the point in taking pics of burnt down houses etc. Plus I wouldnt do it out of respect for the people who lost their lives in these houses.
If people hadnt have died up there I might have taken some shots for future reference.
I may venture back up there this weekend.(weather permitting)
