Christmas Holly is a stunning plant covered with prickly leaves and bright red berries. The Romans offered holly to Saturn as it was considered holly was the sacred plant of Saturn. The history also includes holly being hung as a decoration by the Christians to avoid persecution and evil spirits as it was thought to be endowed with magical powers. We still use it now to decorate our halls and walls.
