Dainty Daisies by © Linda Callaghan

Happy times recently celebrating my lovely daughter’s wedding. Yesterday, coming down to earth from the celebrations, I took a walk around the garden and saw that spring is rewarding us with many flower shows. Our Daisies caught my eye and inspired me to splash some watercolours on wet paper and create Dainty Daisies.

Dainty Daisies

Pretty faces and white petals surround,
dainty daisies growing from the ground.
Spring has sprung and the show begins,
Flowers bloom and a birds sings.
Time to celebrate the beauty we see,
before our eyes for you and me.
Daisies push and twist to the top,
to greet the day, they do not stop.
In all their splendour they put on a show,
and gracefully exit as others grow.

So pretty Linda! Do you have to mask the flowers beforehand or do you just paint around them (I have no idea when it comes to watercolors. I got some good paper yesterday but still yet to try)

  • thanks so much Dianne…no I do not use masking fluid…never have. When I applied the paint wet on wet…I sprayed with a little water and let it dry. I had little white areas that I used as the flowers…you can also lift the paint off with a wet brush. I painted the flowers with the paint that was hardly diluted. So hope that explains it all :)
