    Hi Naomie
Yes I did! I was very happy to receive it so put it to good use in my very first oil painting.

Excellent! Beautiful painting, Linda! I love your water colours but you have a really good feeling with oils!! You get odourless thinners nowadays so the smell won’t bother you! There are too few people who do oil paintings and you have a wonderful talent!

  • Thank You Avril so much for your kiind comment and advice – I will look into the odourless thinners. I am still deciding what medium I am going to stick to – tried the oil but ended up with a headache with the smell, currently trying acrylics. Thank you for taking the time to comment :-)

Odourless thinners is one of the best things to happen to oil painters, Linda! I used to get massive headaches as well and dreaded winter time with closed windows. Now its no problem at all! Its a little bit more expensive but well worth the money. I filter my old thinners through paper towel and coffee filters into a funnel and use the same thinners for ages.

  • Whoops did not hit the reply button next to your name – I have answered your comment in the comment box under apple blossoms if you would like to read it :-) thank you

I did enjoy doing the apple blossoms and have it hanging on one of our bedroom walls – I will ask this week. I only have one good tube of oil paint (white) the rest not so good quality but will get a collection together and give it another go. Not sure where to start with pallets, storage of paint etc but will do some reading of books. Thank you again I appreciate your advice! :-)
