That’s what I like to see, a touch of pastel. I threw the rule book out years ago and started using whatever mix of media worked for me – never looked back. Isn’t it good to do a bit of experimenting now and then Linda. especially when you get results like this delightful scene?

Beautiful and idyllic Linda…it brings back a story from my childhood about a village hidden in a valley and this is how I imagined it…the touches of pastel you’ve added were a brilliant stroke of inspiration as the tree appears to be covered in spring blooms….lovely watercolour work…

oo this is so sweet, i’m noticing a lot of mauves coming through in people’s work lately, which is a little unusual…..it apparently can symbolise spirituality along with many other things, so that is perfect for this dear little church ;)

this is beautiful !! but what is the little man doing there on the left, rising hand ? is he saluting someone ?

I just had to come back to this as it is just such a special painting and the poem truly inspirational.

I remember when I was wondering about in the world, quite lost and alone but thinking I was doing pretty ok til that phenomenal call of our our precious Jesus consumed my dreams, my thought and my heart and soul. When I found my faith in America and was led by Jesus to my Priest and one very special Church I will never forget that time of profound love, healing and faith. I will never forget how I finally found my ‘home’ after being abandoned, abused and alone most of my life.

This painting reminds me of the moment I saw the very church I was dreaming of. How I was driving by and had to stop immediately because I recognise it. It was St joseph’s Church in Mobile Alabama. When I walked in there was my first best of my soul, Fr Michael who astounded me with his wisdom, grace, humility, patience and great love of God. Moments like that are s special and so profound that you never forget them.

Not only was I led to one great Priest but two, my local Priest Fr Richard as well. God is abundant with His love and grace, all we have to do is just love Him and trust Him.

Thank you for reminding me oh how much I love God and how much He loves us in return by taking me back to my days of great joy and healing.

Gos bless you hunny. I just had to share my heart’s thoughts with you because I just know you will appreciate them. I don’t tell many people these things

An excellent result, Linda.
The riot of colours are superb.
The mixture has worked well here. I mixed oil pastels with watercolour once, on my ‘Victorian Lady’ painting.
I seem to only do watercolours with a bit of white gouache highlighting now.
