Red Onions

Red Onions

This is my first still life watercolour painting of Red Onions, 26cm x 21cm on reeves watercolour paper. Onions are one of the oldest vegetables known to humankind and used in so many recipes. They have healing and relieving qualities and are said to prevent scurvy and assist colds and rheumatsim.

I built up the layers letting each one dry before painting the next.

Onions onions in the pot
vegies, stock, herbs, the lot
makes a tasty soup for sure
please, I say… can I have more!

Add: 50g plain flour
