Obituary

(taken from a small, treasured book of her poems, Mother’s Evening Song )
Elizabeth, so young, so beautiful
so full of life and love..
Gone from a bed of pain and suffering
to heaven above.
But oh how sweet it is to know
that when our life is o’er,
She will be waiting there to greet us
upon the heavenly shore.
Written by my great grandmother, Eunice Anna Pearson Perry about my grandmother- her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Johnson Perry, upon her passing
into life eternal when she was only 36 years old in 1933. As I read my great-grandmother’s poems and do family research, I feel this wonderful connection with those who have gone before me..and look forward with great anticipation to a joyful reunion one day.
