Preserved in Poetry
Their love was summer-born.
Nurtured by Son light,
it became a summer psalm..
Basked in seasoned warmth
and grew in tones of harmony.
Autumn came with wind and rain
and theirs was still a summer love
preserved in poetry.
And even Winter, dressed in death,
resounds the sweet refrain.
Their tender song of summer love
will play eternally.
I wrote this poem for my sweet Mom and Dad for their 33rd anniversary.
Mom passed away when she was only 64, but I know they will be
together for eternity.
